We are looking forward to a fantastic year! Choir members will be representing
Mustang Centennial Elementary as they perform throughout the year at school and community events.

CHOIR INFORMATION TO KNOW:

REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals for Centennial choir will be each MONDAY unless students are notified otherwise. Rehearsal time will be from 2:45p.m. to 3:45p.m.  Students will need to
have a way home promptly at 3:45p.m. after each rehearsal. Students are NOT
allowed to stay at school unsupervised to wait for parents. MAC choir students will begin Monday rehearsals in late October.  Separate details will be given for those rehearsals.

ATTENDANCE:
Attendance is very important in preparing for our performances. Each choir member
is expected to be present at rehearsals unless sickness, emergency, or an excused
absence prevents them from being in attendance.  An excused absence must have a written note from home signed by a parent or guardian. Parents will be contacted
after unexcused absences have occurred.

BEHAVIOR:
To have a performance ready group, each student must be on their best behavior
during rehearsals.  Because of our limited amount of rehearsal time, any student
who becomes a constant disruption in the group will be removed from choir for
the remainder of the school year.
Students in choir are expected to follow the same
school and class rules that apply during the regular school day.  Students are also expected to be a positive example when away from the school.  School rules apply
on all field trips.

GRADES:
Students must maintain a “C” average or above each nine weeks in their classroom work, have all assignments turned in and have satisfactory marks in specials to remain
in choir. A student below this average will not perform with choir until the grades
improve.  The student has the following nine-week period to do this.  If the grades
have not improved and missing work has not been turned in, the student will be
dismissed from choir.  Grade checks will be done periodically throughout the school year.

DRESS FOR PERFORMANCES:
Choir
members will need a pair of blue jeans and the 2011-2012 Centennial
school t-shirt
(black shirt – “Driven to Succeed”) which may be purchased through
PTA.  If you have not purchased a school shirt for your child, an order form can be downloaded below.

Students will be required to wear the 2011-2012 Centennial school t-shirt and a pair
of jeans to each performance.  To be a unified group, students may not be able to perform if they are not wearing this year’s shirt.  Please help your child keep track
of their shirt.

PERFORMANCES:
You will be notified by way of notes home and Centennial’s music web site of performance dates and times as they become available and confirmed.

Please contact Mrs. Sturdy at sturdyp@mustangps.org or call 256-6466 ext. 3403
with questions or concerns.
